Soil carbon sequestration multiplies the value of productive soil by reducing the cost of inputs such as fertilisers and herbicides/pesticides, by building a buffer against the extremes of Global Warming, and by capturing Greenhouse Gases and reducing the impact of Climate Change.
Prime Carbon will also boost local economies by attracting corporate outlays for carbon abatements through a unique, farm-based carbon capture and storage system.
This soil carbon solution avoids the need to ‘retire’ productive land by planting forests which reduce the population in rural areas and threaten the closure of schools, health services and local business.
Indications are that a 1% increase in soil carbon is as beneficial as an additional 8 inches of rain per annum.
