What we do

Landholder's roleĀ

The seven easy steps that the landholder needs to fulfill in order to receive a carbon credit from the Prime Carbon Program are as follows:

Step 1

Sign an agreement with Prime Carbon to undertake the following actions on a specified piece of land.

Step 2

Assess the historical average weight of chemical fertilizer used on an annual basis on the allocated land (for a minimum 2 year period).

Step 3

Reduce the weight of chemical fertilizer used on the allocated land by at least 30%.

Step 4

Use microbially enhanced Bio-Fertiliser(s) from an Approved List in the agreement.

Step 5

Use Soil Conditioners and/or Inoculants from an Approved List in the agreement.

Step 6

Agree not to till the soil more than once annually and then only to a maximum depth of 200 mm.

Step 7

Allow Prime Carbon or a representative from Prime Carbon access to the allocated land during the 2 year term of the agreement for measurement and auditing.

Important
There is no restriction on continuing to farm or use the allocated land during the agreement term.
